Rocky Landscape with St. Jerome in penitence. Pen and brown ink on cream laid paper. This work shows the transition between art whose central focus is an event in the life of a saint and art where the landscape has become the central focus. (By the way, if you haven't spotted him yet, St. Jerome is meditating in front of a crucifix leaning against the wall of a cave in the top right of the drawing). Image size: 84x157mm. Price: Please call or email for current pricing information.
