Ronde de Nuit / Night Watch (M. 672). Original color lithograph, 1970. 75 signed & numbered impressions plus c. 1500 unsigned impressions published in the deluxe art review Derriere le Miroir of which ours is one. The title suggests that this is a modern version of Rembrandt's famous painting of the civic guard goiing about their nightly watch. This lithograph is singled out for special comment by Raymond Queneau in the preface to Miro Lithographe IV. One of Miró's most delightful lithographs. Image size: 380x560mm. Ubu aux Baléares X (M. 775). Original color lithograph, 1971. 120 signed & numbered impressions plus 6 HC printed at Mourlot on Arches vellum. In this work, Miró revisits his 1966 Ubu Roi series, presenting a less serious version of the farcical existence of Pere Ubu. Image size: 506x661mm. The colors are actually stronger than they appear in this potograph, where I sacrificed vividness to get the white paper to show as white, not gray.

Affiche Exposition Zurich 1972 Avant la Lettre (M. 841; Miró's Posters 59). Original color lithograph, 1972. 150 signed & numbered impressions before lettering + c. 1000 posters. Ours is an unsigned proof before lettering on the paper used for the poster edition announcing a show at Galerie Maeght, Zurich, perhaps to check for color balance. Barcelona Series 1972-73 (D. 596, B. 208). Original etching & aquatint with carborundum, 1973. 50 signed & numbered impressions on Guarro printed by J. J. Torralba & published by Sala Gaspar Editeur, Barcelona. Miró signed this piece both up-side-up and up-side-down.. Image size: 750x1050mm. Hommage à Joan Miró (Dupin 866). Original color aquatint and etching with carborundum, 1973. 275 signed impressions on Guarro printed by J. J. Torralba & published by Sala Gaspar Editeur, Barcelona, on the occasion of Miró's 80th birthday. Annotated "cordialment" by Miró. Picasso i els reventos / Picasso and the ghosts (Dupin 588). Original color etching & aquatint,1973. 215 signed & numbered impressions (33 with Roman numbers on Rives plus 182 with Arabic numbers on Guarro, of which ours is one. There are also 17 HC impressions). Published by Editorial Gustavo Gilli to benefit the Fondation Picasso at Reventos. A witty tribute to Picasso, one of the first to praise Miró's genius.
