Every day during the Autumn of 1994, Titus-Carmel would sit down at the desk in his study, observe the play of light upon a tree near his house, and then paint. The results are visible in part below. One of the ways that Titus-Carmel typically works is through the working up of what could have been an individual work into a series, offering the artist a chance to meditate on the meanings, whether conscious, subconscious, unconscious, or simply an immediate emotional response to a sensory impression originating outside himself, of the complex interaction of eye, hand, mind, and desire.
