Artigas has explained his love of lithography as follows: "If I want power, impact, a startling image, I use lithography. With the technique of printing directly off the stone, it is possible to get a maximum of ink on the paper. This ... allows ... powerful color." The image, anticipating Monte Python, shows a hand tearing the heavens apart in order to arrest aomeone unthinkingly going about his or her life on earth. Image size: 380x560mm. Price: $550.

With the technique of printing directly off the stone, it is possible to get a maximum of ink on the paper. This ... allows ... powerful color." To anyone who treasures the memory of the Gene Wilder "Willy Wonka" movie, the image suggests that the subject of the dossier is a "bad egg." Image size: 380x5450mm. Price: $550.

From left to right, Dame au pamplemousse / Woman with grapefruit, Blues, La derniere nuit / The last night. Artigas told us he made these three lithographs to function as a triptych but that each could be hung by itself as well. There is no fixed order: we have simply arranged them so that the circular element rises from left to right as your eye moves across the image. If the three piece, matted in 32x24 inch mats (acid-free museum board, of course) were hung together with a three-inch space between them, they would occupy a space 32x78 inches. Obviously, if they were framed or matted in a larger mat, they would occupy more space (e.g. 36x90 inches plus frames; if they were framed with mats, they would take less space. The colors of the pieces are much more accurate in the group photograph than in the individaulones.
Blues. Original color lithograph, 1979. 75 signed and numbered impressions on Arches published by Maeght Editeur in Paris. Artigas has explained his love of lithography as follows: "If I want power, impact, a startling image, I use lithography. With the technique of printing directly off the stone, it is possible to get a maximum of ink on the paper. This ... allows ... powerful color." The lithographis printed on white paper; the discoloration comes from the photography, not the print. This is one of three works that Artigas said he did as a triptych but which each could be hung by itself as well. Image size: 657x499mm. Price: $650.
La derniere nuit / The last night. This ... allows ... powerful color." The colors here are not very close to the true colors, which are, from the top down: white, very dark blue, brown (in oblong shape), flatter hunter green, bright yellow on right, light green on left. This is one of three works that Artigas said he did as a triptych but which each could be hung by itself as well. Image size: 637x495mm. Price: $650.
La dame au pamplemousse / Woman with a grape fruit. This ... allows ... powerful color." The colors here are close to the true colors except for the grapefruit, which should be a more vibrant yellow. This is one of three works that Artigas said he did as a triptych but which each could be hung by itself as well. Image size: 643x497mm. Price: $650.
L'eclair multicolore / The multi-colored lightning flash. Original color lithograph, 1979. 75 signed and numbered impressions on Arches published by Maeght Editeur in Paris. The colors here are close to the true colors except for the grapefruit, which should be a more vibrant yellow.
