Gilbert Lely's Ma Civilisation (Paris: Editions Maeght, 1947) contained eleven etchings by Coutaud, which show him at his best as a printmaker. Ma Civilisation was published in an edition of 250 unbound numbered portfolios. The first fiftey portfolios contained the final versions of the etchings as well as their first state; the remaining portfolios contained only the final state of each etching. There do not appear to be any signed impressions. We have ten of the works on view in our show, along with two later works dating from 1966.
